Gags start selling for 1 liras in Istanbul
Medical masks began to be sold in Istanbul on Friday, after the government allowed them to sell for only 1 lira.
Turkish media reported that the masks would be sold to markets, pharmacies and medical companies selling medical devices and e-commerce.
She noted that the sale will move quickly to other cities, starting with urban areas.
The Turkish Ministry of Trade announced in a statement yesterday that the surgical medical masks will be available for sale until one pound, including VAT.
The ministry stressed that selling the masks at a higher price is considered "exorbitant", and offenders will be punished.
The Minister of Health Fakhruddin Kujah stressed the importance of the mask in combating the coronavirus, and said: "The way to get away from the virus is the mask and the social distance."
