Turkey opens the first medical city in Europe
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated the medical city of Basaksehir, which is located on the European side, and is the first in Europe, and it consists of 8 specialized hospitals on an area of one million square meters with the latest international specifications in addition to securing a metro line that reaches the city to facilitate the transportation process.
The President stressed in a speech during the opening ceremony that the state has put 10 medical cities with a capacity of 1699 beds in the service of its citizens, and plans to establish 8 other cities by the end of this year.
Adding that the Turkish cities and medical hospitals have become an example that serves the medical tourism sector.
In his speech, he explained the success of many mega projects during the past 17 years despite all attempts to obstruct and fail, which confirms the Justice and Development Party's commitment to what it pledged when he took over the country's development in the areas of education, health, justice and security.
It showed that Turkey provides health care to many citizens free of charge, while citizens of developed countries receive health services at a high cost.
Referring to the strength of the health care sector in Turkey, which demonstrated its superiority during the Corona crisis over many health systems in developed countries.
He added that Turkey has 5 thousand and 400 ambulances and 19 helicopters dedicated to medical services, in addition to the number of health sector workers, one million and four hundred thousand.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish government allocated from the state budget for 2019 to the Ministry of Health 190 million pounds, within the framework of the efforts made to achieve the country's vision for 2023 AD.
